Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Therapy for Women, Families, and Children in Fredericksburg and Across Virginia

Hi, I’m Beverly Lemmons, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals and families create lasting emotional wellness. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where healing, growth, and connection can flourish.

Who I Help

I especially enjoy working with women, families, adolescents, and parents. Whether we’re processing trauma, navigating family dynamics, or addressing behavioral challenges, my goal is to help each client feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Clients describe my presence as warm and grounding — and my hope is that each session offers space for clarity, connection, and lasting emotional healing.

My Background & Approach

I am an LCSW and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Louisville, and a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Planning from the College of William & Mary.

My career has included work in psychiatric care admissions, outpatient therapy, and school social work, giving me a deep understanding of emotional and behavioral challenges across all stages of life. Alongside my clinical work, I serve as a Behavioral Health Professor, where I have the privilege of mentoring and inspiring future social workers to bring compassion and integrity into their work.

My work is grounded in trauma-informed, client-centered therapy, integrating both evidence-based and attachment-focused methods to help clients heal and grow. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to support clients in building confidence, emotional resilience, and healthier relationship patterns.

I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), which allows me to help families and parents strengthen attachment, improve communication, and create emotionally secure relationships at home.

Beverly especially enjoys working with women, families, adolescents, and parents, guiding them toward deeper self-understanding and healthier relationship interactions. Her warm, compassionate presence helps clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.
