Thrive Counseling for Healing and Connection aims to be a nurturing, innovative and cooperative environment for professionals who share similar values to excel in their practice.
Our foundation is built on our belief in secure connections and we embrace therapeutic models centered around attachment, family systems, trauma, emotion regulation and somatic therapy. We integrate evidence based practices with neuroscience and the innate wisdom of the body to provide comprehensive and holisticcare to our clients.
Core Beliefs in Treatment & Team Philosophy
As human beings we are wired for connection. To build secure attachment we practice establishing safety, attunement and validationwith our clients and our relationships in general.
We understand, organize and heal human struggles at their core and we take a non-pathologizing approach to our client’s difficulties.
Our strong-rooted belief in the power of positive connection is foundational to how we operate as a team. Providing support, supervision and promoting an environment of excellence among our team is crucial to build confidence and success in our therapists.
We believe a therapist can only take their client as far as they are willing to go themselves and therefore we promote continuous self-care and self-awareness and willingness to engage in personal growth by the therapists that work on our team.
We aim to be learners rather than knowers. Remaining teachable and open are keys to our ability to serve our clients at our highest level.
We are committed to our clinical growth and professionalism as therapists. Taking intensive trainings, having a willingness to be uncomfortable in the learning process and application of our chosen models of treatment, and giving ourselves grace in our individual path of development are essential to our effectiveness.
Authenticity, humor, generosity, and clarity are important values that add to the safety and connection of our team. We believe these values promote an environment that allows our team, our clients, and our community to thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions About Employment with Thrive
-
We welcome inquiries from licensed therapists (LCSW, LPC), social work supervisees, and residents in counseling at varying stages of experience. We are particularly interested in clinicians who have developed or are developing a specialty focus — whether in trauma, chronic illness, children and teens, men's issues, neurodiversity, or another area of focused practice. If you're a strong clinical fit and a position isn't actively listed, we still encourage you to reach out — we grow intentionally and keep qualified candidates in mind.
-
Clinical supervision is provided weekly for provisional licensees. All clinicians have access to regular case consultation meetings where the team comes together to consult on individual cases — this is one of the most valued parts of our practice culture. Our founders are actively involved in the clinical direction of the practice and remain accessible to clinicians navigating complex cases or professional development questions. We don't hire people and leave them on their own.
-
All Thrive clinicians are W-2 employees. We believe W-2 employment creates a more stable, supported, and professionally sustainable experience for clinicians — and it removes the administrative complexity of managing independent contractor status. Benefits of W-2 employment at Thrive include predictable income, practice-managed billing and insurance paneling, and a clear employment structure that supports your focus on clinical work.

Yes. We offer in-person sessions at our Fredericksburg, Virginia office. Some clinicians work primarily in person, others primarily via telehealth, and some offer a hybrid model. We work with each clinician to find a schedule and structure that fits their practice goals and our client needs.
-
We actively encourage clinicians to pursue intensive specialty training — particularly in EMDR and EFT — and we support that pursuit in practical ways. We connect clinicians with training opportunities, provide encouragement and structure for pursuing certification tracks, and hold regular case consultations that deepen clinical skill over time. We believe a practice is only as strong as the growth of its individual clinicians.
