Terapia en Español para AdulMeet Angélica

Hi, I’m Angélica Guevara-López, MSW, a bilingual (Spanish/English) therapist who works with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, identity concerns, and major life transitions.

I am passionate about supporting people who feel stretched thin by stress, responsibility, or internal pressure—especially those who may feel misunderstood, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy with me is a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and empowering.

I offer therapy in Spanish or English, depending on your preference, and I bring a culturally responsive lens to my work while welcoming clients from all backgrounds.

Who I Help

I work with:

  • Teens and young adults navigating identity development, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, or family stress

  • Adults experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, or emotional overwhelm

  • Men and women adjusting to life transitions such as relationship changes, academic or career stress, parenting challenges, or shifts in identity

  • Individuals navigating grief, trauma, or relational disconnection

  • Spanish-speaking clients who value receiving therapy in their preferred language

  • Clients experiencing acculturation stress or the pressure of balancing multiple cultural expectations

Many of the people I work with feel a strong sense of responsibility to others and little space for themselves. Therapy can become a place to explore emotions, build coping skills, and reconnect with your sense of self and direction.

Background & Approach

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and practice from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive perspective. My approach is relational and collaborative, grounded in the belief that healing happens best when people feel genuinely seen, respected, and supported.

I integrate evidence-based approaches such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness-based strategies

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills development

In our work together, I help clients identify emotional patterns, strengthen resilience, and build greater self-understanding and confidence. I am especially attentive to how culture, family roles, gender expectations, and community influence emotional well-being and self-esteem.

Connect With Me

I offer in-person therapy in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as well as telehealth services across Virginia through Thrive Counseling for Healing and Connection.

Whether you’re a teen exploring identity, an adult navigating stress or life changes, or someone seeking therapy in Spanish or English, I would be honored to walk alongside you during this season of growth and healing.
