Compassionate Trauma-Informed Therapy for Women and Teens in Fredericksburg and Across Virginia
Hey, I’m LaTroy.
Hi, I’m LaTroy, I’m a trauma-informed therapist and supervisor who is passionate about helping women, teens, and families feel seen, supported, and empowered. I offer a calm and compassionate space where you can make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and begin healing in a way that feels steady, grounded, and deeply honoring of your story.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience, I am dedicated to walking alongside clients as they navigate trauma, transitions, emotional overwhelm, and the challenges that come with both family life and individual growth. I believe every person deserves a safe and supportive place to process what they have been carrying, and I am committed to creating a therapeutic environment where you can slow down, breathe, and begin to feel more like yourself again.
Whether you’re working through past trauma, managing the demands of motherhood, supporting an older teen through a difficult season, or seeking more emotional steadiness in your day-to-day life, my goal is to help you move forward with clarity, hope, and renewed confidence.
Who i Help
I work with:
Women, including mothers balancing emotional load, identity, and relational stress
Older teens navigating school pressures, identity development, and family dynamics
Adults coping with anxiety, depression, and life transitions
Individuals and families healing from trauma, including childhood trauma, foster care or adoption-related experiences, and unstable early environments
Clients facing significant adjustment issues related to change, loss, or relational ruptures
I support clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or ready to understand themselves on a deeper level. No matter where you’re starting, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
background & approach
I hold a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2018. Since 2009, I have served as a lead clinician, and I have been providing clinical supervision to emerging counselors since 2019—supporting and mentoring new therapists is a part of my work I truly love.
My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered. I believe firmly in your right to self-determination and in the healing power of feeling safe, seen, and supported. I help clients understand how their past experiences shape their present, and together we work to build resilience, emotional balance, and healthier patterns.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). These approaches help clients reduce the emotional charge of painful memories, process trauma safely, and move forward with greater internal steadiness and confidence.
At the core of my work is the belief that healing is possible—and that you already carry the strength you need to rebuild.
