Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Sarah McClelland
I believe every person (and every relationship) is capable of growth and change.
Hi, I’m Sarah McClelland, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to supporting women, mothers, and adults who are carrying more than they feel they can manage. Whether you’re a new mom adjusting to life with a baby, a high-achieving woman balancing multiple roles, or someone healing from trauma or chronic illness, I’m here to offer a steady, compassionate space where you don’t have to hold it all together alone.
My passion lies in helping women feel understood, supported, and empowered — especially when they are navigating seasons of exhaustion, overwhelm, or emotional disconnection.
Sarah's passion extends to the profound ways early childhood attachment influences adult relationships. She approaches relationship issues through the lens of attachment wounding and trauma history, helping clients understand and heal from past traumas that impact their present. Sarah utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients reduce the emotional impact of traumatic events, allowing them to move forward without the weight of past experiences following them into their future.
In addition to her focus on motherhood and attachment, Sarah has a wealth of knowledge in several niche areas. She is exceptionally skilled in addressing traumatic grief, particularly in the aftermath of homicide, and supports clients through the complex emotional landscape of such profound loss. Furthermore, Sarah provides specialized care for individuals managing the emotional toll of Multiple Sclerosis, helping them navigate the psychological challenges of living with a chronic illness.
WHO I WORK WITH
I specialize in working with:
Moms at Every Stage
Pregnant and postpartum mothers adjusting to identity shifts, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm
Single mothers carrying the weight of parenting on their own
Busy, working moms juggling multiple roles and feeling pulled in every direction
I understand the internal pressure high-achieving women place on themselves — and I help them create space for their own needs without guilt.
Women Healing from Trauma, Grief & Attachment Wounds
I support women who are:
Carrying attachment injuries that impact relationships
Navigating trauma histories that still shape their present
Healing from traumatic grief, including loss due to homicide
Struggling with self-worth, emotional overwhelm, or patterns that feel hard to break
I use EMDR to help reduce the emotional weight of painful memories so women can move forward without constantly reliving the past.
Individuals Living with Chronic Illness (Special focus: Multiple Sclerosis)
Living with chronic illness affects every part of life — physically, emotionally, and relationally.
I help clients explore:
Identity shifts
Grief and fear
Anxiety around the future
The emotional toll of day-to-day symptoms
The need for gentleness and compassion toward themselves
