Masters Level Social Work Intern
Crystal Muir
Supporting Tweens and Teens Through Anxiety, Depression, and Life’s Challenges in Fredericksburg, Stafford, and King George, Virginia.
Meet Crystal.
Hi, I’m Crystal Muir, a Master of Social Work Intern passionate about supporting tweens, teens, and young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, and the challenges of growing up in today’s world. My goal is to create a space where my clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal and grow.
Before entering the field of social work, I spent more than eight years in healthcare and behavioral health, where I developed a deep understanding of how emotional and physical wellness are connected. That experience continues to guide my work as I help clients manage stress, regulate emotions, and build resilience.
I’m currently completing my Master of Social Work at Grand Canyon University and my clinical internship with Thrive Counseling for Healing and Connection. At Thrive, I also co-facilitate Women’s Groups, helping create safe, supportive spaces for women to reflect, connect, and grow together.
who i Help
I work with:
Tweens and teens managing anxiety, depression, and school-related stress.
Tweens & teens navigating peer pressure and self esteem.
Young adults working towards independence and balancing life transitions.
Women who feel emotionally overwhelmed, burned out, or under pressure to “do it all.”
My calm, grounded approach helps clients feel safe and understood as they learn to regulate emotions, grow in confidence, and find strength in their own stories.
Background & Approach
My approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based, trauma-informed, and strengths-focused. I also use creative and expressive interventions to help clients process emotions, develop self-awareness, and discover new ways to cope with stress.
I’m trained in suicide risk assessment and trauma-informed care, and I’m Certified in Girls Circle Facilitation through the One Circle Foundation — a program that empowers girls to build confidence, empathy, and connection.
My background in urgent care and medical settings has given me a calm, steady presence in moments of high stress or uncertainty, which helps my clients feel grounded and supported through even the toughest challenges.
connect with me
