Supporting Teens Through Anxiety, School Stress, and Life Transitions

Ericka Hall, MSW intern providing teen therapy for anxiety and school stress in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Meet Ericka.

In-Person and Virtual Counseling for Adults and Teens Navigating Anxiety, Stress, and Life Transitions in Fredericksburg and Throughout Virginia

Hi, I’m Ericka Hall, a Master of Social Work Intern who believes that healing begins with feeling safe, supported, and truly understood. I work to create a calm, collaborative space where teens and adults can explore challenges, build emotional awareness, and develop tools to better manage stress.

Many of the teens I work with feel overwhelmed by school demands, social pressures, or big emotions they don’t yet have words for. I help clients slow things down, strengthen emotional regulation, and build confidence in navigating daily life. For parents, my goal is to provide care that feels thoughtful, structured, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

My approach is warm, direct, and strengths-based, with a focus on building trust, emotional safety, and practical coping skills that extend beyond the therapy room.

who I Help

I work with:

  • Tweens and teens experiencing anxiety, school-related stress, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty managing big feelings

  • Teens navigating peer relationships, self-esteem, and identity development

  • Young adults facing life transitions, increased independence, and stress related to work, school, or relationships

  • Adults seeking support with anxiety, emotional regulation, self-understanding, and personal growth

I provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel respected and guided, while maintaining appropriate structure to help them feel safe and supported in therapy.

Background & Approach

I am currently completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Virginia Commonwealth University and am in my advanced clinical placement with Thrive Counseling for Healing & Connection. I practice as a Qualified Mental Health Professional–Trainee (QMHP-T) and receive weekly clinical supervision from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to ensure high-quality, ethical, and attentive care.

My approach integrates evidence-based practices including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns

  • Mindfulness-based strategies to support emotional regulation and stress management

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) to strengthen engagement and personal insight

I am committed to providing inclusive, respectful care for individuals of all identities and backgrounds, and I work collaboratively with clients — and when appropriate, parents — to support emotional growth, resilience, and healthy development.
